This programme is aimed at reducing the adverse socio-economic impact due to global warming, conserve environment, lower expenditure, increase income generating opportunities as well as lower the burden of work and humiliation to a girl child in Tanzania. The Greener Tanzania programme is a pilot programme aimed at cutting a vicious circle between poverty and environmental degradation.

Greener Tanzania programme being run under the following six main components:

1. Rain Harvest Technologies.
2. Promotion of the use of renewable energy sources.
3. Efficient Stoves.
4. Bio fuels.
5. Solar power.
6. Tree Planting.

Future programme components will include:

1. Bore hole drilling for rural mwanza communities.
2. Biogas.
